Acts4Youth is a nonprofit organization that nurtures personal, social and spiritual development in at-risk Baltimore City youth through its afterschool, summer and one-on-one mentoring programs. We are looking for an intern to work eight to ten hours per week during the fall semester of 2016 to do the following:
• Develop an understanding of our organization and its unique mission
• Review what we are currently doing to market the organization (The only social media platform we currently use is Facebook)
• Create a social media plan to increase awareness of our organization
• Begin to implement that plan
• Leave a plan for post-internship execution
Preferred skills include…
• Working knowledge of Facebook and Instagram
• Ability to write to engage and inform
• Students with coursework in public relations, marketing or communications preferred
• Knowledge of Photoshop and WordPress helpful, but not necessary
Your schedule will be flexible and you can usually work from home; however, for at least one hour each week, you will meet with the Marketing Director to discuss plans and brainstorm strategy, attend other meetings, and/or attend an Acts4Youth program event to take photos or gather information for posts. Our offices are located at 2nd Presbyterian Church in Guilford and the schools and churches where the programs are held are all within several miles of Loyola University.
