The Babe Ruth Birthplace Museum is the historic home where George Herman Ruth, Jr. was born and contains artifacts from throughout his professional and private life and appeals to sports fans at all levels. In addition, the Museum Foundation houses artifacts & memorabilia from Maryland sports legends and teams.

Interns will be responsible for one or more projects and be expected to participate in Museum marketing and special events. A working knowledge of social media platforms and the ability to learn new applications is important. Interns will be expected to conduct internet research in building lists for marketing outreach; speak with visitors, tour group representatives and media representatives in booking tours; and assist in marketing events and programs at the Museum. Hours and days of the week to be determined with student’s class schedule.

The Babe Ruth Birthplace Museum internship is an educational experience in which the student works with Museum staff to promote the programs, rentals, tours and fundraising events. Applicants should be enrolled in a recognized college program in Communications, Marketing or Journalism. The Museum will work with your academic advisors to ensure interns receive academic credit. All paperwork is the responsibility of the student. In return, Interns will be exposed to a variety of marketing & promotional techniques, interaction with a variety of museum, sports & creative professionals, and gain the knowledge necessary to advance in their chosen field of study. A healthy understanding of sports is encouraged but not required. Free parking is available.
