This year our priority campaigns are working to increase recycling and reduce waste by bringing the bottle bill to Maryland and protecting families from toxic chemicals in children’s products.
As an intern with Maryland PIRG you’ll learn key skills from building public support and working with the media, to lobbying and building coalitions.
Responsibilities vary, but generally include:
– Generating public support for our campaigns through petitions and online organizing.
– Working with and expanding coalition partners.
– Working with the media.
– Coordinating and attending campaign and media events.
– Attending meetings with decision makers and elected officials.
– Learning how an organization is run.
