INTERNSHIP: Seeking Legislative Intern in Communication and Social Media Progressive Maryland Delegate from Baltimore City is looking for an ambitious, hard-working, and skilled person to join her team as a Communication and Social Media Intern.
Skills Needed:The ideal candidate: Has an interest in Baltimore, state and local government, educating constituencies, and learning This position is in the realm of communication – applicants should have social media experience (specifically, Facebook, Twitter, and WordPress) Strong writing skills. Experience with web design and coding is a plus.
Responsibilities:We have been growing this project over the past year and are looking for a motivated person to continue developing and moving this project forward. Responsibilities include: Maintaining website and social media updates. Working on a newly created community calendar to engage constituents. Collecting news and media. Writing press releases and writing about legislative issues relevant to the district Constantly brainstorming new ways to engage constituents
Position:This position is unpaid in exchange for academic credit, with the possibility of continuing work beyond the internship period. The Communication and Social Media intern is expected to work a minimum of 140 hours during the semester and will average 10-12 hours per week.
