Midday is seeking interns who are interested in an unpaid educational experience working with the staff of one of NPR affiliate WYPR’s most popular radio programs.
We involve interns in most aspects of our program: researching and booking interviews, editing recorded audio, writing copy for hosts, participating in editorial meetings, pitching ideas, gathering tape, and reaching out to listeners on social media. The schedule is flexible, but we need a commitment of 12 to 15 hours per week, typically as 3 days a week, from about 9:30am to 2:30pm.
We’re looking for a creative, collegial and productive person with the ability to work well independently and as part of a team, and a dedication to fair, accurate, and compelling journalism. You can learn a lot working with us — and have a lot of fun, too.
If you’re up for a challenging and interesting experience – and one that might also earn you an academic credit – please submit a resume and any samples of your work to Midday’s senior producer, Rob Sivak, at rsivak@wypr.org. If you have any questions about the Midday internship, you can call or text Rob at 301.802.6478.
