JOB TITLE: Marketing\/Public Relations Intern <\/p>\n
SALARY: Non-paid\/complimentary parking provided.<\/p>\n
DEPARTMENT: 1st Mariner Arena Marketing\/Public Relations<\/p>\n
RESPONSIBILITIES:<\/p>\n
* Assists with the generation and distribution of press releases, press statements, feature stories and public service announcements concerning the Arena and its events.<\/p>\n
* Assists in the organization of promotional and publicity campaigns centered on Arena events.<\/p>\n
* Assists with the coordination of trade for tickets and promotions with radio and newspaper outlets.<\/p>\n
* Monitors newspaper for Arena advertisements and listings.<\/p>\n
* Assists in organizing event recaps and media follow-ups.<\/p>\n
* Assists in taking ticket orders for VIP holds.<\/p>\n
* Help to cover receptionist desk for a 1 hour time period, as needed.<\/p>\n
* Various public relations projects as assigned.<\/p>\n
*We consider our interns a part of our department; responsibility is a large component in the experience.<\/p>\n
Events include family shows such as Sesame Street, Circus, Disney on Ice, Wrestling, Concerts, etc. and several special events.<\/p>\n
REPORTS TO: Marketing & Public Relations Manager<\/p>\n
REQUIREMENTS:<\/p>\n
10 -20 hours a week (3 days preferred)<\/p>\n
Course work in Mass Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Marketing or related areas of study.<\/p>\n
COMPUTER SKILLS: Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Photoshop a plus.<\/p>\n
