NBC Universal and The National Association of Hispanic Journalists (NAHJ) are proud to offer two students the opportunity to become NBC fellows and join one of the following NBC News programs for the summer of 2008:<\/p>\n

Primetime NBC’s own Dateline
One of NBC’s local Owned and Operated Stations
Two students will be provided a stipend in the amount of $500 a week for 10 weeks to live in New York City, totaling $5,000 for each student.

This is a 10 week paid internship beginning in June of 2008 in the Washington, D.C. bureau of The Associated Press. The student will work under the supervision of a designated trainer covering breaking news that may be featured in many media outlets.<\/p>\n
This opportunity is open to a woman or a minority student currently a full-time junior, senior or graduate student attending an American college or university and receiving financial aid. .

The Frances L. Lewine Fellowship
Application Deadline: 4\/30\/2008 <\/p>\n
The Frances L. Lewine Fellowship is a paid internship that places a female journalism student for 10 weeks during the summer in CNN\u2019s Washington DC bureau newsroom, where Fran Lewine spent the last 27 years of her illustrious and groundbreaking career.<\/p>\n
Applicants should have a passion for news and an interest in the workings of government and politics on a national level as well as a command of digital journalism. Prior experience in a newsroom is strongly preferred.
Candidates are asked to submit samples of their work-written or audio\/visual. The ability to shoot and edit with consumer style equipment is necessary. A short written letter or essay should outline their reasons for pursuing a career in journalism. Final applicants will be required to submit two letters of reference.<\/p>\n
The fellowship generally begins in June and runs through the end of August. The selected applicant must be able to commit to a 40-hour work week. The pay is $600\/week.<\/p>\n
Responsibilities
The student will help cover news in the Washington metropolitan area-including the various levels of government- under the direction of CNN\u2019s newsroom managers. It will involve off-camera work on the phone and in the field using the newsgathering resources of CNN\u2019s largest bureau.<\/p>\n
