Editorial Interns (two)
Duties
\u25cf Fact and Name checking
\u25cf Editing — depending on skill level
\u25cf Web site writing — depending on skill level
\u25cf Posting\/updating online articles — depending on skill level
\u25cf Marketing our articles to potential readers
\u25cf Compiling schedules of sports games for the paper
\u25cf Photo library maintenance — renaming files, sorting, etc.
\u25cf Sizing photos for web stock image library
\u25cf Transcribing interviews
\u25cf Helping with program guides for local sports tournaments
\u25cf On-site promotion assistance at events when needed
Qualifications
\u25cf Interest in and knowledge of sports, particularly those in the Baltimore area
\u25cf Must be timely and dependable
\u25cf Must be available in office at least one day per week, regularly, plus other days and times, depending upon project (8-10 hours per week)
\u25cf Experience working for a school newspaper or other publication is preferred
\u25cf Knowledge of AP Style is preferred<\/p>\n
Video interns (one or two)
Duties
\u25cf Assist with set-up of equipment on location
\u25cf Operate camera on location (when possible)
\u25cf Assist with creation and editing of video packages
\u25cf Assist in developing video content ideas
\u25cf Observe and assist with TV show (films at 8 p.m. on Wednesdays at WMAR)
\u25cf Assist with all aspects of producing show segments (packages), including calling people to set up interviews
\u25cf On-Site promotion assistance at events when needed
Qualifications
\u25cf Interest in and knowledge of sports, particularly those in the Baltimore area
\u25cf Must be timely and dependable
\u25cf Must be available in office at least one day per week, regularly, plus other days and times, depending upon project (8-10 hours per week)
\u25cf Should have a flexible schedule, because assignments can come up on short notice
\u25cf Experience with Adobe Premiere or Final Cut Pro is preferred<\/p>\n
Photography intern (one)
Duties
\u25cf Take pictures of local sports games and\/or events
\u25cf Send pictures to editors promptly after completing the assignment
Qualifications
\u25cf Interest in and knowledge of sports, particularly those in the Baltimore area
\u25cf Must be timely and dependable
\u25cf Should have a flexible schedule, because assignments can come up on short notice
\u25cf Should have own camera
