Read on!<\/p>\n<p>Girls\u2019 Life magazine provides internship opportunities for students interested in learning about and working in magazine publishing. Whether you\u2019re seeking course credits or looking for personal enrichment, growth and experience, Girls\u2019 Life offers a unique way for students to get a first-hand glimpse into publishing.<\/p>\n<p>Who?<br \/>\u2022 Two or three college students per semester, including summers. Shorter opportunities are available for girls 12 and up.<br \/>\u2022 You must be an organized, self-motivated, resourceful, upbeat student who\u2019s into everything GL (that\u2019s friends, fashion, celebs, beauty and real-life issues).<br \/>\u2022 Mass Communication, English, and Journalism majors preferred.<br \/>\u2022 Computer proficiency (we like Mac) and some office experience are required (ya know, copying and faxing). Experience with Quark and Microsoft Word a plus!<\/p>\n<p>What?<br \/>Duties vary depending on experience and skill-level, but standard responsibilities include:<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Writing. Interns contribute features, short articles, quizzes, reviews, columns and celebrity profiles for our website and magazine.<br \/>\u2022 Providing editorial support. Interns attend editorial meetings; assist editors; research and fact-check stories; work with publicists; and check proofs.<br \/>\u2022 Providing administrative support. Interns sort and respond to reader letters and emails; organize and mail out giveaways; file issue materials; fax documents; and take on anything and everything else vital to the running of the magazine!<\/p>\n<p>When?<br \/>Please contact us three months prior to preferred start of internship. Typically, interns work two to three days per week. Our internship positions are flexible, and we are able to work around school schedules. <\/p>\n<p>Where?<br \/>Our offices are located in Baltimore, Maryland. Don\u2019t live in or around Baltimore?
