IVC may be just the place for you. We\u2019re a small, national nonprofit organization that serves people in need in communities across the US. Because we\u2019re small, there\u2019s no shortage of important work to do, and our intern will have the chance to have an impact on all aspects of our Marketing &amp; Communications efforts. If you\u2019d like to roll up your shirtsleeves and get some experience while doing some important work, we\u2019d like to meet you.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Responsibilities of the Intern:<\/strong><br \/>\nResponsibilities will vary, depending on the skills of the candidate, but can include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\u2022Conduct market research<\/li>\n<li>o to assist in selecting vehicles and venues for IVC\u2019s national advertising campaigns<\/li>\n<li>o to select markets for future expansion within the US<\/li>\n<li>o to support development of a positioning that guides marketing efforts<\/li>\n<li>o mine Google analytics, social media dashboards, and e-mail response data and develop recommendations for plan improvements<\/li>\n<li>\u2022 Assist with developing a national advertising plan, including print, web and search campaigns<\/li>\n<li>o Oversee implementation of and reporting on the Google Ad Words campaign<\/li>\n<li>o Assist in developing print and web advertising copy and layouts<\/li>\n<li>\u2022 Manage updates to IVC\u2019s webpage, using the WordPress platform<\/li>\n<li>o Develop web editorial calendar to plan for ongoing updates<\/li>\n<li>o Collaborate with freelance writer to produce fresh and engaging content and regularly post to the site<\/li>\n<li>o Remove old and outdated content and archive as appropriate<\/li>\n<li>o Develop archiving protocols to ensure that archived content is find-able<\/li>\n<li>\u2022 Develop web governance protocol to ensure that governance of the site is consistent with best practices<\/li>\n<li>\u2022 Develop and implement social media plan to provide ongoing updates of engaging content to the IVC presence on Facebook and YouTube<\/li>\n<li>o Develop social media guidelines for regional staff to ensure that their use of social media is guided by best practices<\/li>\n<li>\u2022 Develop recommendation for a digital asset archive to ensure that IVC has a robust platform for archiving and accessing photos, videos and stories.<\/li>\n<li>\u2022 Manage the product selection and creation for the IVC storefront on Zazzle.com<\/li>\n<li>\u2022 Develop recommendation for standardized portfolio of marketing materials for regional volunteer recruiting events (signage, banners, etc.)<\/li>\n<li>\u2022 Assist in development of direct mail and e-mail fundraising campaigns<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>This position reports to the Director of Marketing, a skilled Marketing leader, with over 25 years of experience, including Fortune 500 consumer goods (Kellogg\u2019s) and Philanthropy 400 nonprofit (Catholic Relief Services) marketing leadership roles.<br \/>\nCandidate Requirements:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\u2022 Graduate or undergraduate student pursuing a degree in a Marketing or Communications fields<\/li>\n<li>\u2022 Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with attention to detail<\/li>\n<li>\u2022 Ability to multi-task and organize own work<\/li>\n<li>\u2022 Proficiency in Microsoft Office platforms and basic computer applications<\/li>\n<li>\u2022 Knowledge of and experience with WordPress is preferred<\/li>\n<li>\u2022 Previous work experience in marketing, communications, web, or social media is preferred<\/li>\n<li>\u2022 Familiarity with the Catholic Church and Jesuit organizations is a plus<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Salary:<\/strong> Unpaid; coordination with Loyola for course credit<br \/>\nHours\/Schedule: Flexible, but total hourly commitment to meet internship course requirements<\/p>\n<p><strong>To Apply:<\/strong> Send e-mail with resume and cover letter to Paul Tillman, Director of Marketing Operations (<a href=\"mailto:ptillman@ivcusa.org\">ptillman@ivcusa.org<\/a>).
