The Loyola Writing Center is looking for a creative and enthusiastic social media intern to join our team. The intern will assist with creating a more user-friendly website and optimizing our online presence. She or he will also be in charge of creating a social media outreach plan, incorporating new methods of social media not yet utilized. A summary of responsibilities is listed below. We are looking for an undergraduate student in Information Systems, Marketing, and\/or Communications. Other majors will be considered if they have exceptional qualifications.<\/p>\n
Details:
\n\u2022for Fall semester 2014 (continuation through spring is a possibility)
\n\u202210-15 hours per week depending on students credit requirements
\n\u2022Unpaid internship
\n\u2022Work would be completed at the Loyola Writing Center main campus location<\/p>\n
Responsibilities include:
\n\u2022Create a plan to improve our website to make it more user-friendly and effective.
\n\u2022Make necessary updates to the LWC website as needed (intern will complete sitecore training).
\n\u2022Update our social media outlets about writing center workshops and other events.
\n\u2022Create a social media outreach plan, to include integration of new social media outlets not yet utilized.
\n\u2022Actively follow social media and other digital marketing methods and integrate new ideas and methods into the writing center.
\n\u2022Research writing tips and tools and other content to post on social media and\/or website.
\n\u2022Manage other marketing means as necessary.
\n\u2022Assist supervisors with the creation of surveys and other research tools to measure the effectiveness of various writing center tools and techniques.
\n\u2022Complete other tasks as needed.<\/p>\n
Required experience:
\n\u2022Proficiency in a variety of social media outlets, to include Twitter\/LinkedIn\/Facebook\/YouTube\/etc.
\n\u2022Strong and professional written communication skills.
\n\u2022Ability to manage multiple projects at once.
\n\u2022A creative mindset and the ability to work both independently and as an effective member of a team.
\n\u2022Strong attention to detail.<\/p>\n
Preferred experience:
\n\u2022Experience with Google+ and Google hangouts.
\n\u2022Intermediate to advanced computer skills.
\n\u2022Past experience creating or managing a website.
\n\u2022Experience proofreading and editing.<\/p>\n
