About this position:
\nWe are seeking and self-motivated individual to join the Young Audiences Communications department. Ideal
\ncandidates and self-starters, effective problem-solvers, and confident creative thinkers. This paid internship position
\noffers a hands-on learning opportunity in social media and blogging at a leading arts-in-education nonprofit in
\nMaryland. Young Audiences Communications department manages the creation and production of all organizational
\nprint collateral; the organization\u2019s website, e-newsletter, and social media presence (including Facebook, Twitter,
\nFlickr, and blog); and various other marketing initiatives to support the organization\u2019s arts-in-education programs and
\nfundraising efforts.<\/p>\n
Experiences include:
\n\u25cf Help with the creation of online content, including conducting interviews with stakeholders and partners,
\nediting, and capturing\/creating photos or graphics to accompany written pieces.
\n\u25cf Assist with the implementation of online content across various platforms, including the Young Audiences\u2019
\nblog, social media, and other web content, brainstorming creative and engaging ways to share content
\nthrough all online channels.
\n\u25cf Assist with Communications initiatives and projects to support the organization\u2019s departments and programs
\nas needed.<\/p>\n
Desired skills and experience:
\n\u25cf Strong writing skills
\n\u25cf Passionate about digital communications and social media.
\n\u25cf Attention to detail, strong interpersonal skills and a positive attitude.
\n\u25cf Independent, out-of-the-box thinker with the ability to solve problems.
\n\u25cf Communications, Journalism, Graphic Design, Arts Administration, Public Relations, or Marketing, Advertising,
\nmajors\/ backgrounds preferred.<\/p>\n
About the Internship:
\n\u25cf The candidate will be able to start in January 2015 and intern for at least 32 weeks
\n\u25cf Work Schedule: Flexible; Maximum of 12 hours per week
\n\u25cf Compensation: $10 an hour with a maximum of 12 hours per week<\/p>\n
