This intern will assist with public and media relations outreach for Pearls on a String: Artists, Patrons, and Poets at the Great Islamic Courts. Interns will gain experience in media relations, internal communications, and community relations.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Duties<\/strong>:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\uf0b7 \u00a0Assist manager with creating press lists and drafting media advisories<\/li>\n<li>\uf0b7 \u00a0Pitch letters and releases for news worthy content<\/li>\n<li>\uf0b7 \u00a0Research and analyze target audiences and competitive trend tracking for industry related\n<p>opportunities<\/li>\n<li>\uf0b7 \u00a0Other public relations duties as assigned\n<p><strong>Experience\/Skills:<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>\uf0b7 \u00a0Excellent writing and editing skills<\/li>\n<li>\uf0b7 \u00a0Proficient computer skills (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)<\/li>\n<li>\uf0b7 \u00a0Strong business communication skills<\/li>\n<li>\uf0b7 \u00a0Familiarity with public speaking\n<p><strong>Preferred Major or Areas of Study:<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>\uf0b7 \u00a0Public Relations<\/li>\n<li>\uf0b7 \u00a0Communications<\/li>\n<li>\uf0b7 \u00a0Journalism<\/li>\n<li>\uf0b7 \u00a0Mass Media Arts<\/li>\n<li>\uf0b7 \u00a0English\n<p>All candidates will submit a cover letter, resume and all supplemental materials to<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"mailto:internships@thewalters.org\">internships@thewalters.org<\/a>.
