JOB OVERVIEW
OrderUp has an exciting opportunity for the 2015 Spring semester for a paid internship within our Marketing department! We are seeking a PR intern who will be passionate about OrderUp and want to share that passion with friends, family, fellow students and complete strangers. Your main goals will be to increase brand awareness and introduce others to the OrderUp’s unique food-ordering marketplace.
The PR intern will be supervised and mentored directly by OrderUp’s Director of Public Relations and Communications. The intern will undergo an on-boarding process when joining OrderUp, during which s/he will be mentored in all programs, best practices, and company standards. The PR intern will work with department leadership throughout his/her experience to integrate him/her in planning processes, strategy brainstorming seminars and developing a great understanding for strategic public relations and communications.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Research and create media lists, draft press releases, and conduct media outreach
Research and maintain speaking/editorial opportunities and calendars
Experiment and come up with new and alternative ways to leverage OrderUp’s stories
Monitor media for coverage and maintain list of placements
Other PR duties as assigned
REQUIREMENTS
-Currently pursuing a Bachelors Degree in Public Relations, Communications or Marketing
-Strong writing and proofreading skills
-Able to work with minimal supervision while maintaining focus & productivity; able to meet deadlines
-Work from OrderUp corporate headquarters in Canton, Baltimore, MD
-Commitment to working a full semester and during scheduled hours
